And now an english update….

Hello,
This is a note to most of the none dutch speaking people we’ve met during our trek from Singapore till now, here in Mae Hong Son (N-Thailand).
Happy 2009 and we hope that your trip was even beautiful as ours and maybe we will meet again somewhere!
As we left from KL to Krabi, the weather changed. It became very sunny.
At Krabi we did some lovely tours: Ao Nang/Railey beach., kayaking in the mangroves and Ko Phi Phi island tour. The snorkelling in open sea with a LOT of fishes was a wonderful experience.
Then we travelled to Kao Sok Natural Park where we did some trekking, including the caves and the lake. Further north we stopped over in Ranong to take the slow boat to Ko Pa yam and we are sure that this is definitely a very beautiful, peaceful island. No cars, no traffic jam, lovely sunsets and good food and fruitshakes! Lets hope the island does not loose his charme to quickly. After 5 nights the accommodations became all occupied and it was already Christmas time. So we moved on to Bangkok, passed it, and arrived in Ayuttaya. Sukothai followed shortly after that. This was our culturale part.
We had enough off all the wat’s and bussed on to Chiang Mai, were in fact the city was overcrowed. All the Tai went to the north at that time. Dispite that, it was not difficult to find a place to sleep but it was still busy for us. We took the opportunity to go on a hill tribe village trek to escape from all the noise in the city .On December 31st we stayed overnight in the mountains and we had a great time over there.
2 January we bussed to the beautiful village “Pai”. After a four day stay we are now in Mae Hong Son. We are looking for a trek again at the moment and will go from here to Mae Sariang and back to Chiang Mai. From there we will take the night train to Bangkok, visit Kanchanaburi a few days to end with the Ko Chang island in The gulf coast. The last 4 or 5 days we save for exploring Bangkok.
That’s it folks, if we’re crossing you in this schedule, let’s hear! Bye and hope to hear from you! If some off you may need some information about GH, train, bus, boat schedules : Rudi made an very detailed travel notebook that can be used for every one who has the need for it.
Greetz,
Magda , Rudi.
